Here is some advance information about the start of the new season.

We start on Thursday, January 4th, 2024. 

Essentially everything remains as it was. But what’s new?

• The distribution of plastic staplers will be restricted. The content usually changes very little
• That’s why there are no longer new folders for everyone every season, but only for new teams. If a team no longer has a folder or the old folder is broken, they will receive a new one upon request.
• The current game plan and score sheets will continue to be distributed and can then be placed in the existing folders.
• All information and rules will be made available online in the future and can be accessed at any time. A website has been set up for the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday leagues.
• The content of the Thursday league is already available, the content of the Tuesday and Wednesday league will be added shortly.

Changes to the rules

• Rule 15 of the League rules: ”Game cancellations/game postponements” has been adjusted.
• Rule 16 “Home-/Away games“ has been added.
• All agreements can be found in the Thursday League Rules

The rest remains the same as last season:

5 rounds with 4 games each and a final 8-ball team round are played. So 21 games in total.

Round 1: 9-ball single
Round 2: 8-ball single
Round 3: 8-ball double
Round 4: 8-ball single
Round 5: 9-ball single
Round 6: 8-ball team

The team that achieves at least 11 points wins the evening and receives 2 points for the win. The other team gets no points.

If there is a tie in the table, the number of frames won decides. If this is also the same, the overall result from the home and away matches decides in a direct comparison.

The game is played under World Pool Association (WPA) rules with some adjustments. 

If 16 or more teams participate, we will form two groups. The two groups do not play against each other.The top three teams in each group receive a trophy at the end of the season. In addition, the overall winner of both groups will be determined on the evening of the award ceremony: The two first-ranked teams will play 8-ball, best of five. Players have to change in every frame. If the score is 2:2, the decider will be played as a „gang bang“ with minimum 3 players. The winner receives another trophy for the overall victory.

For clarification:

1. When setting up 9-ball, the „1-ball“ is on the spot (not the „9-ball“).
   In 8-ball, the foremost ball is on the spot (not the „8-ball“). This applies regardless of the size of the table. See image here.

2. Golden break in 9-ball is possible.

3. No team may play with more than one “Elite” player in any of the five sections of the match or the final team game. Twice the use of the same elite player in 8-ball doubles is allowed. Elite players are listed in the attached list. This list can be expanded or changed at any time.
4. Only ONE move change per season is allowed for a player from one bar to another.
5. There is a minimum of four players per team.
6. Jump shots are not allowed in this league.
7. There is a minimum consumption of THB 1000 for the guest team. It is the responsibility of the home team bar owner/captain, not the league administration, to inform the away team of any underspending and to resolve the issue amicably with them.

8. The same drink prices apply as on other days.
