Hi there,

and welcome to the FOURTH season of the  “Wednesday Pool Hua Hin” – League.

We start on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. 

Here are some information about the new season:

• We have two groups. The distribution of the bars between the groups is based on the table standings from the previous season.

   

• The top three teams in each group receive a trophy at the end of the season. And the top two teams will play a game for overall victory.

   

Please note the following:

The idea of this league is that the guests of the bars play the games as a TEAM and spend a nice evening playing pool together. This is also intended to appeal to, and especially to less experienced players. As it is becoming more and more common for individual bars to seek advantages through the targeted use of good and very good players, we are trying to curb this to some extent. This is done through the list of „elite players“ and through the following rules:

• No player can play for different teams on the same night. (Point 22 of the rules)
• Each player can only change teams once per season. (Point 23 of the rules)
• Changing players three weeks before the end of the season is not possible. (Point 23)
• Each player must provide their correct name. (Point 26 of the rules)

Now there is a new rule (Point 24):

• Each player must play at least TWO frames per evening per team. If a player wins a frame and has not played another frame, the won frame is considered lost and is awarded to the opponent. Exceptions and changes can be agreed between the teams (e.g. if a regular player has to leave earlier).
• This is intended to prevent players from only playing individual frames on demand and trying to support certain teams. We’ll see if it works.

Urgent attention is drawn to rule 19:

 All drinks prices should be clearly displayed in close proximity to the bar and pool table.

It is not acceptable for a bar to demand increased drink prices from the visiting team on match day.

And Rule 15 has been changed.

Please also note:

This time, for the last time, there will be a new plastic folder for each bar. Please keep the folder for the future seasons. New folders are only available for new bars or on request. 

From this season onwards, only the game dates and the score sheets will be printed out to put in the existing folders.

For clarification: 

1. When setting up 9-ball and 10-ball, the „1-ball“ is on the spot (not the „9-ball“ or the “10-ball“. In 8-ball, the foremost ball is on the spot (not the „8-ball“). This applies regardless of the size of the table. See image below.
   
   
2. Golden break in 9-ball is possible.
   
   
3. No team may play with more than one “Elite” player in any of the five sections of the match or the final team game. Twice the use of the same elite player in 8-ball doubles is allowed. Elite players are listed in the
    elite-player list. This list can be expanded or changed at any time.
   
   
4. Only ONE move change per season is allowed for a player from one bar to another.
   
   
5. Jump shots are not allowed in this league. 
   
   
6. There is a minimum consumption of THB 800 for the guest team. It is the responsibility of the home team bar owner/captain, not the league administration, to inform the away team of any underspending and to resolve the issue amicably with them.
   
   
7. The same drink prices apply as on other days.
