Welcome to the SEVENTH season of the  “Wednesday Pool Hua Hin” – League.
This season runs from Wednesday, June 4th, to October 1st, 2025.

What’s new?

Eternal Topic: Elite players

TWO elite players can play per set under certain conditions This also applies to doubles and gang bangs.

Please note that a second Elite player is only possible if they are part of the team. A last-minute transfer of a second Elite player (e.g., towards the end of the tournament) will not be accepted.

Anyone who was present on at least a quarter of all match days is considered part of the team.

Elite players in the leagues will be determined based on the games won in the leagues and – as before – on individual decisions by the league management.

In the Wednesday league we have a good mix of 20 teams. There are four new teams. We are playing in two groups again because otherwise the playing time would be too long. There is also a „final“ at the end of the season. That has a special appeal.

More News:

• IMPORTANT: If the final result is 11:10 (or 10:11), the losing team is awarded 1 point. (Winners receive 2 points, as before). (Point 7 of the league rules)
• Each player must play at least TWO frames per evening per team.(Point 24 of the league rules)
• New plastic folder only for new bars. There are only the game data and the score sheets printed out. Please put them in the existing folders.
• Further changes to the Tuesday league rules affect point 26: Score Sheets, point 28: Communication, point 30: Presentation night. New is point 29: Expulsion from the league.

We have adapted some rarely used WPA-Rules to the Wednesday League:

WPA GENERAL RULES
1.7 Balls settling	No ball is restored to its original position
1.11 Concession	If a player gives up, he must clearly express. Simply unscrewing the cue or removing a glove is not enough.
1.12 Stalemate	Look there
WPA RULE REGULATIONS
19: Deflecting Cue Ball opening break	This rule does not apply
28: Frozen Balls	This rule does not apply. This means that a ‚frozen ball‘ is treated as if it not a ‚frozen ball‘.

Please note the following Hua Hin league rule:

• Point 15: ”Game cancellations/game postponements” 
• No player can play for different teams on the same night. (Point 22)
  
• Each player can only change teams once per season. (Point 23)
  
• Changing players three weeks before the end of the season is not possible. (Point 23)
  
• Each player must provide their correct name. (Point 26)

For clarification:

1. When setting up 9-ball, the „1-ball“ is on the spot (not the „9-ball“).
   In 8-ball, the foremost ball is on the spot (not the „8-ball“). This applies regardless of the size of the table.

2.  The food spot is determined by the position of the diamond markings on the edge of the table. The marking on the cloth is NOT decisive.
   
3. In 8-ball rack, the usual arrangement of the balls is possible, but it is NOT a rule. The rule states that there is NO purposeful or intentional pattern.
4. There is a minimum consumption of THB 800 for the guest team. It is the responsibility of the home team bar owner/captain, not the league administration, to inform the away team of any underspending and to resolve the issue amicably with them.

“We wanted to return to the times when pool was played to win, but in a pleasant and friendly way, without recourse to a ‚win at all costs‘ attitude, which seemed to have consumed many leagues. A time when the residents of Hua Hin and visitors, gathered to have a few drinks, socialise and enjoy the evening and teams were not packed with ‚elite‘ players, whose sole purpose seemed to be to grind lesser teams into the ground. A pool league where those with a more average skill set, could compete on a level playing field.”

It is with this in mind that we run the three leagues we organize.
